Economic Outlook Note - India

India is set to be the second-fastest growing economy in the G20 in FY 2022-23, despite decelerating global demand and the tightening of monetary policy to manage inflationary pressures. GDP growth will slow to 5.7% in FY 2023-24, as exports and domestic demand growth moderate.

  • Healthcare: Increase public spending to improve health outcomes in an equitable way

India has also become a key player in the global economy. The implementation of an ambitious set of reforms has supported economic activity and helped put a break on inflation and on both fiscal and current account deficits.
