Romania has alcohol consumption of 11.7 litres of pure alcohol per capita per year, roughly equivalent to 2.4 bottles of wine or 4.5 litres of beer per week per person aged 15 and over. In addition, in Romania, some population groups are at higher risk than others.

There are now 47 Adherents to the 2009 OECD Declaration on Green Growth. Romania has joined Costa Rica, Colombia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Morocco, Peru, Tunisia, as well as OECD members in having adhered to the Declaration.
