The EU-funded “EU4Environment” Programme, launched in 2019, helps six Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, preserve their natural capital and increase people’s environmental well-being. It supports environment-related actions, demonstrating and unlocking opportunities for greener growth, and setting mechanisms to better manage environmental risks and impacts.

EU4Environment organised the Regional workshop on Implementing a Best Available Techniques (BAT) approach to environmental regulation in the Eastern Partnership countries. It provided updates on BAT-related activities, discussed challenges, and ways in which peer countries and the EU4Environment project can continue to support implementation.

On 25 June 2020, the EU4Environment Implementing Partners, jointly with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus, held a virtual consultation. The objectives were to review the in-country situation in light of COVID-19; present progress with EU4Environment implementation; discuss plans for the rest of the year in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
