OECD-GVH Regional Centre for Competition in Budapest

The OECD-GVH Regional Centre for Competition in Budapest is a joint venture between the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) and the OECD.  Opened in February 2005, the Centre expands the OECD's work on competition in the Central, East and South-East European regions.

The Centre provides capacity building assistance and policy advice through workshops, seminars and training programmes on competition law and policy for officials in competition enforcement agencies and other parts of government, sector regulators, judges and others. The Centre also works to strengthen competition law and policy in Hungary and the GVH itself.  » Calendar of activities

Newsletter - Competition Policy in Eastern Europe and Central Asia

Competition Policy in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, the centre's newsletter, is a point of reference for the analysis of the developments of competition in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. It collects the experiences of the participating economies on a range of topics and combines this knowledge with the reflection on the same topics carried out by the OECD Competition Committee.

Each issue is devoted to a specific topic of particular relevance for the region. Contributions by both the RCC and selected OECD competition authorities provide for diverse and complementary perspectives. Included articles are accompanied by an introductory section, which places the chosen topic into the political and economic context of Eastern Europe and Central Asia and examines the extent to which the challenges faced in the region can be addressed with the tools and responses identified in the OECD debate.
