OECD launches programme in Ouagadougou to support Burkina Faso in implementing new international tax standards

 

13/06/2018 - Today, in Ouagadougou, an OECD delegation met the Minister of Economy, Finance and Development of Burkina Faso, Mrs. Hadizatou Rosine Coulibaly, to discuss the progress made in the implementation of new international tax standards.

 

Burkina Faso is an active member of the Inclusive Framework on BEPS and the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes. It is also a signatory to the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent BEPS.

 

This visit launched the support programme in Burkina Faso for the implementation of the BEPS package and in particular the four minimum standards on harmful tax practices, misuse of tax treaties, Country-by-Country reporting and dispute resolution.

 

On the occasion of this meeting, a Tax Inspectors Without Borders programme was also launched in Burkina Faso to strengthen the capacity of the tax administration in terms of tax audit.

 

A technical workshop bringing together senior officials of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Development and the Directorate-General for Taxation of Burkina Faso will be held on 14-15 June 2018 in Ouagadougou, for the preparation of a sheet will detail the steps required to implement the new international tax standards, according to a defined timetable.
