ABOUT The Regional BEPS Induction Workshop for the Caribbean was hosted by the OECD and the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning, Sustainable Development, and Information Technology of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Regional meetings enable all countries and jurisdictions, Inclusive Framework on BEPS members and non-members, to share their experiences on BEPS implementation on a regional basis, and feed their perspectives into the global dialogue. This workshop aimed to address the specific needs of Caribbean jurisdictions in terms of technical assistance and capacity building support on BEPS implementation. It dealt with the implementation of the four BEPS minimum standards, particularly on harmful tax practices and tax treaty abuse. Other key BEPS priorities for Caribbean jurisdictions, like transfer pricing and other tax treaty-related matters, were also discussed. This meeting focussed on the Inclusive Framework’s most recent Programme of Work, which aims to address the tax challenges arising from the digitalisation of the economy by providing consensus-based, long-term solutions. The meeting brought together officials from Finance Ministries, other relevant ministries, and revenue authorities of Caribbean jurisdictions, decision-makers as well as technical experts, and representatives from the OECD, regional and other international organisations.
