Seminar on SME Internationalisation in Montenegro and Other South-East European Countries, Podgorica, Montenegro, 13 April 2005

Entrepreneurship is one of the most important drivers of local economic development.  In 2005, the LEED Trento Centre is organising a series of capacity building seminars in South-East Europe to assess how to face key challenges in the area of entrepreneurship policy development.  The following issues will be addressed:

These seminars are a follow up of the Trento Centre capacity building seminar on entrepreneurship held on 13-17 December 2004 in Trento. This seminar in Montenegro will continue the work on the case studies identified during the Trento seminar and will further explore the theme of SME internationalisation.  This event aims to:

  • Analyse the policies and instruments necessary to attract and embed foreign SMEs in Montenegro regions;
  • Study the instruments necessary to facilitate the SME exporting activities as well as main barriers encountered by Montenegro SMEs wishing to access foreign markets;
  • Provide know-how and support to participants willing to promote SME internationalisation and attract foreign SMEs in their regions.

The seminar will be held back-to-back with the Seminar on Strengthening Local Clusters organised by the Trento Centre in co-operation with Government of Serbia and the Serbian SME Association in Belgrade.  It is part of the activities of the joint OECD- Central European Initiative Local Development Network (LDN)

Participants from Montenegro and other countries are invited to take part in the seminar, including: national, regional and local governments; business forums; local and regional development agencies; the education and training sector; international organisations. Participants are invited to book their hotel themselves.

Serbian and English will be the working languages of the seminar. To register, please complete the registration form below. For more information, please contact Ms. Alessandra Proto from the LEED Trento Centre for Local Development.
